Fama already offers an exceptional collection of over 600 fabrics, featuring a wonderful variety of colours, patterns and textures.

However, we understand that sometimes you might have found the perfect furniture design but haven't quite discovered the fabric you're looking for.

Our Customer's Own Material service gives you the opportunity to explore a wider range of upholstery options beyond Fama's standard fabric collection.

Whether you're looking for a distinctive statement fabric, a particular colour or a beautifully textured finish, we're here to help you explore the possibilities.

How Does Customers Own Material Work?
  1. Chose Your Fama Sofa or Armchair - Browse our range of Fama furniture and select the design that best suits your space, lifestyle and comfort preferences.
  2. Find Your Ideal Fabric - Choose a fabric from your preferred fabric supplier, textile specialist or interior designer. If you've already found something you love, simply share the details with us.
  3. We'll Check its Suitability - We'll liaise with Fama to confirm whether your selected fabric is suitable for your chosen furniture, taking into account its composition, width, pattern and upholstery requirements. 
  4. Recieve Your Personal Quotation - Each project is individually assessed, with pricing available on application. We'll confirm the requirements and arrangements for supplying your chosen fabric.
  5. Your Furniture is Made to Order - Once everything has been approved, your selected Fama sofa or armchair can be manufactured in your chosen material, creating a piece that is truly personal to you.

All fabrics are subject to Fama's approval, including any applicable commercial performance or fire safety requirements.

  • Can I supply fabric from any manufacturer?

You're welcome to suggest a fabric from your preferred supplier. However, all materials must be assessed and approved by Fama before we can confirm whether they can be used.

  • Is this seervice avalible on evey Fama sofa & Armchair?
Availability depends on the furniture model and the chosen fabric. Please contact us with your requirements so we can check the options with Fama. 
  • How much does it cost to have my Fama furniture upholstered in my oen fabric?
Our Customer's Own Material service is priced on application. We'll provide an individual quotation based on your chosen furniture and its upholstery requirements.
  • How much fabric will I need?
This will depend on the furniture model, fabric width, pattern repeat and other manufacturing requirements. We'll confirm the quantity required once Fama has assessed your chosen material.
  • Can my Interior designer supply the fabric?
Yes, we're happy to discuss fabrics sourced through an interior designer or specialist supplier, subject to Fama's approval.
  • Will choosing my own fabric affect the delivery date?
Lead times can vary depending on the selected furniture, fabric approval process and material availability. We'll explain the expected timescale before your order is confirmed.
